The Duality of Woman

The Duality of Woman

There I was, four hours into a “scenic” road trip through the Great Rift Valley. What was meant to be a smooth cruise to Naivasha had turned into a four-hour test of patience involving slow-moving lorries and the inevitable. I’d cracked my “Passenger Princess” soju a bit too early, the traffic was at a standstill near Maai Mahiu, and there wasn’t a clean petrol station in sight. As I eyed the acacia trees and wondered if I could hover over a patch of grass without being spotted by a passing matatu, the thought hit me: Ugh, I hate being a woman.

Are you truly worthy of love?

Are you truly worthy of love?

I recently had a conversation with some of my friends and asked them what makes them feel the most pursued by a man? The overwhelming response was: when they have clear intentions, ask questions, are intentional with planning, follow through with actions, and make an effort. I gathered that women want to feel seen and valued by a man. So why are we settling for anything less? Why are we falling for minimal effort and interactions with men who do not possess these qualities? Why are we ‘confused’ about a man’s pursuit when we should be enlightened by their lack of pursuit and realize they aren’t into us?

Buenos Dias! It’s saturday, 9:37AM as I’m writing this article. I’m at Artcaffe enjoying a cup of cappuccino and a blueberry muffin. I’m a lover of their blueberry pastries, always so delish. I’ve also just dropped off my son for his swimming practice at his school. I’m so excited for him as he gets to morph into his own self, make new friends and this has particularly made me really look forward to weekends😍 I’m really excited for today’s blog, it’s very close to my heart and without further ado, let’s get into it 🙂

BEST STAYCATION EVER!

BEST STAYCATION EVER!

I love being indoors, but, for all the right reasons and not the global pandemic we’re currently going through. Sigh! When I was single, with NO child, I’d spend most of my time indoors watching a  movie, baking up a storm, enjoying some good wine or reading a good book. Ever since my little blessing, Mr Ace, came into my life, I’ve been forced to get out of my comfort zone and eat out more, go to play parks with him, explore different kid-friendly restaurants with him as well as enjoying stay-cations within Nairobi! This is a good thing as opposed to the opposite 🙂
