A Generation of Change.

There’s always hype about the next great generation, the ones who will fix problems and shake things up. It’s interesting how women across the globe are speaking up, building forums, writing books and starting powerful conversations to inspire change. We all want to live in a society that allows us to use our voices in order to be heard, inspire and eventually create change. Global Initiatives such as Goal Keepers have paved way for discussions around Global Goals that are intended to cultivate a better future around the world.

Women such as Janet Mbugua, Grace Msalame, Lucia Musau, Melinda Gates, Julie Gichuru, Yara Shahidi, Zendaya, among other amazing women across the globe have truly paved the way for women of our generation and generations to come. These women are fearless, they’re bold they’ve literally broken barriers. Yara Shahidi at the age of 19, is not only an actress and model but also a social good activist. She even at some point mentioned; If I may quote “I’m not afraid to put my career on the line to talk about politics.” If this ain’t bold. I don’t now what is!! She’s equally pushing her peers to become politically engaged by helping to register young people to vote in the 2020 presidential election in the US as well as encouraging voters to become educated about not only about politicians but also policies affecting marginalized communities.

Janet Mbugua recently launched her book “My First Time”. My First-time compiles some very memorable stories from different people talking about the one thing that we have created so much stigma around – Period. Not so long ago, sometime last year, an online conversation on twitter was started which took a jab on Alwaysâ„¢ Kenya brand. So many ladies opened up about their experience with the brand, how it had negatively affected them at some point in their lives I included and interestingly, the brand recently responded with a campaign showcasing their newly improved products which by the way, I’m excited to try!! I’ll share a full review on my Instagram soon. I promise to be as honest as possible 🙂

Alwaysâ„¢ are huge believers that every girl should have access to period protection. Anyone that knows me personally, knows how passionate I am when it comes to social good and change. I’m a huge believer that we as individuals are the change we need. With that said, I’ll be donating Always sanitary towels courtesy of Alwaysâ„¢ to Immanuel Children’s Home in Kayole.

We need to keep girls in school by rallying everyone to help raise awareness of the issue, spark product donations & support local period heroes who are already making a difference to #EndPeriodPoverty for good. #AlwaysPartner
