Uncovering long buried dreams.
When I first landed in Hargeisa, I was so oblivious of the challenges and endless possibilities that I was going to encounter. Within the first week, I was sure I wanted to return home. The culture shock was so unforgiving, the climate was such a huge shift, the constant food poisoning as I tried to adjust to the new food and a whole lot of stares. It took a lot of pep talk and leaning on family and friends back home, and ultimately, re-adjusted and made the experience worthwhile. I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way ๐ Over time, I got to interact with the Somalis (They’re the most kindest and helpful people you can ever meet). Their togetherness, more-so during the recent Hargeisa fire ๐ made me admire their brotherhood.
